What a week! I think I am officially nearing the end of jet lag which is good, a couple of 10 hour nights of sleep have helped. We have been working a lot (albeit mostly in nice a/c exec lounge with constant access to a very good cappuccino machine). It has been a bit tougher than we thought in terms of collecting the data we need at the health ministry which is a tad frusterating.
Today after morning meetings I took a break and walked the main street near our hotel and stopped for a mani-pedi, which cost all of $12 dollars...not bad. It was also entertaining watching the stream of men go upstairs for "massages" -- I'm still not sure what that means, and if it really is just a massage. It is also interesting to see the line of "working women/girls" hanging out in broad daylight waiting for customers. I'm not sure how the business works or if it is organized (i.e., do they have pimps?). Tomorrow I'm doing a day-long tour of Bangkok so I hope to get some answers from my guide.
Finally got out to the pool which had been calling my name all week, its not sunny but certainly is hot. Tonight heading to a very tall roof top (61 floors up!) for drinks with my boss before she heads out tomorrow and leaves us on our own (eek) -- we head out VERY early Sunday morning for Vietnam.
Will post some pics soon! (Yes, my blog is having an identity crisis, the pink just didn't feel quite like me).
