Two roads diverged in a wood, and I —

I took the 'one less traveled' by,
And that has made all the difference.

Hello from DC-

I really was not sure when (I knew it would happen at some point!) that I would be back writing on this blog. I’m excited (and slightly apprehensive) that the time has come, almost a year to the day I got back from India. As most friends and family reading this already know, 4 weeks from tomorrow I will be officially off to India for a year to work at the Comprehensive Rural Health Project (CRHP), the NGO where I spent part of my time in India last summer. It is going to be such a tremendous learning experience; I cannot wait to get started!

Although before I jump in head first learning everything and anything about working at and running an NGO in the developing world, I could not help but take advantage of some travel time. Similar to last year, I am going on a 2-week trip with Intrepid Travel - -but this time there are two very different parts. One – I will be going way South instead of way North. Two – I have convinced my friend Ashley to come which means it will be a total blast!! We can’t wait, we have many to-do lists to get through in the next few weeks but due to the fact that we are both total Type-A control freaks, we know it will get done.

Today is my last day of work at GW, its of course bittersweet as I probably wouldn't be off to Asia if it hadn't been for my time working here and in the MPH program. Luckily, everyone here is so supportive and excited for me. Friday I move out of my Apt (assuming I can finish packing on time). Change is in the air and its exciting and overwhelming! The next few weeks will be busy seeing friends, spending time with family, and enjoying hot baths, television, and eating fresh fruits, and steak (fire up that grill Dad!), just a few of the things I will soon be without!

Anyway, more to come over the next year.

I’ll keep you posted.
